Description
A refreshing frozen dessert combining watermelon, lime, tequila, and orange liqueur, topped with sparkling water.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
- Lime wedges, for garnish
- Mint sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
- Freeze the watermelon cubes until solid, about 4-6 hours or overnight.
- In a blender, combine the frozen watermelon, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, sugar, and salt.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, like a sorbet. If it’s too thick, add a tablespoon of water or more lime juice.
- Scoop the sorbet into glasses.
- Top each glass with sparkling water or club soda.
- Garnish with lime wedges and mint sprigs. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and orange liqueur. Add more lime juice or a splash of simple syrup for sweetness.
- Adjust sugar to your preference based on the sweetness of your watermelon.
- You can prepare the sorbet base ahead of time and freeze it in an airtight container. Let it soften slightly before scooping.
