Description

A refreshing frozen dessert combining watermelon, lime, tequila, and orange liqueur, topped with sparkling water.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Freeze the watermelon cubes until solid, about 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. In a blender, combine the frozen watermelon, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, sugar, and salt.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy, like a sorbet. If it’s too thick, add a tablespoon of water or more lime juice.
  4. Scoop the sorbet into glasses.
  5. Top each glass with sparkling water or club soda.
  6. Garnish with lime wedges and mint sprigs. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the tequila and orange liqueur. Add more lime juice or a splash of simple syrup for sweetness.
  • Adjust sugar to your preference based on the sweetness of your watermelon.
  • You can prepare the sorbet base ahead of time and freeze it in an airtight container. Let it soften slightly before scooping.
