Classic sugar cookies decorated with colorful sprinkles.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Stir in sprinkles until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For softer cookies, reduce baking time slightly.
- You can chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for easier handling.
