Description
A quick and easy meatball bake with melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- In an oven-safe skillet, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet with the marinara sauce.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then cover and cook for 10 minutes.
- Remove the lid and arrange the mozzarella slices over the meatballs and sauce.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- You can use pre-made meatballs to save time.
